LP

OK!!!! Our songwriting has been in bit and pieces for a while but now we've got our shit together. We're trying to be more organized because our creative process was falling apart and began to look something like Chinese Democracy. There's only six songs on the board but that doesn't mean that we're writing epic, lengthy metal anthems. Actually this LP is going to be more hardcore that we've ever written. Real D-beat mayhem! These six songs just represents the ones which are completed or almost ready.

New bass player!

Our former bass player Jaakko has moved to Oulu..  He is too busy to work with the band as much as the band needs him. So Jaakko and us decided together that it's better for the band if we get a new bass player. 

Weird how I immediately got that feeling that this is some kind a memorial writing and farewell to Jaakko, it's not. Arrestum has grown to collective of best possible friends  that you can imagine and our past players are always part of this cult! Hey to Tommi also, who's putting out some bad ass noise at the moment: SYNTI!

And now we welcome Mika to our cult! Mika was playing bass in our European tour because Jaakko could not make it. So Mika was kind a obvious choice to bass. We're very grateful for him and eager to see how the songwriting starts with him. He jumped straight in to the composing process of our album, big pressure? Better have some, we're kind pedantic with songwriting!

Damn we're lazy!

First of all, we're very sorry that we haven't been updating these pages. We've just told to ourselves that we're too busy. No we are not, we are damn lazy. It takes five to fifteen minutes to write something in here.

So from now on somebody from the band will be writing here more often. Stay tuned!

And now, what have been keeping us so "busy"?

Even though something from somewhere is trying to put us down to the rat race, we try to spend as much time as possible at our training place. We are composing our upcoming LP and it feels like the creative work has finally got some lift. It feels that all the usual songwriters in our band (Aapo, Heikki and me) got rear pockets full of riffs, arrangements and cool ideas and when we get together Dave is bringing those shreds of songs alive with his thunderous drumming.

I also had some major problems with writing. I felt like I got nothing to say to nobody. Just wanted to spend my time in the woods and believe in something supernatural, write about nature and mystics. I still do but I also have been developing my sense of societal responsibility and awareness, trying to question my own beliefs and opinions again because I have been stuck in my own righteousness.

There is also big changes and happenings going on in our personal lifes. Real major shit!
Sadly we're have to make some line-up changes but we're very clad to have a great new member to our collective. More about that later.

More tour updates!

It's been a blast! There's four days behind us and six more to go. We've played in really cool places and met some really nice people. Weather is hot and humid like us. I've been trying to write some kind of real time online diary but I'll do it later.. (suprise suprise) and time colors the stories in a good and bad way so keep tuned for some good fishing stories soon. :D

There's some changes in our schedule. Dresden show got cancelled but we're playing at Klub Jazgot in Szklarska Poreba, Poland instead. We've heard there's nice mountains and such. Looking forward to that!

Couple of days and then this circus hits the road. Let's see what happens. We are bringing copies of our new EP with us and maybe some other stuff too.. patches and shit.. We are also trying to update a tour diary as we go and put it in here.
